Privacy Policy

This policy explains how TodayInTech Solution (“we”) handles personal data on GuruMentra, in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable Indian law.
1. Our role
For teachers’ accounts and public profiles, we decide how data is used. For student and parent data that a teacher enters or receives through admissions and enquiries, the teacher decides why it is collected; we process it on the teacher’s behalf to provide the service.
2. Data we collect
- Teachers: name, email, mobile number, institute name, city/area, profile details, UPI ID, and payment records for our fees (processed by Razorpay; we do not store card or bank details).
- Students and parents: names, class, school, date of birth (optional), parent contact details, attendance, fees, homework and test results — entered by the teacher or submitted through an admission or enquiry form.
- Technical data: IP address and basic logs used for security and abuse prevention.
3. Children’s data
Many students are under 18. Admission forms require a parent or guardian to confirm consent before a child’s details are shared with the teacher. We do not use children’s data for advertising, tracking or profiling, and we do not sell personal data.
4. How we use data
- To run the Platform: accounts, class management, receipts, reports, reminders and the public directory.
- To send service emails to teachers (for example bills and payment reminders).
- To prevent fraud and abuse, and to meet legal and tax obligations.
5. Sharing
- With the teacher you contact or apply to (your enquiry or admission details).
- With service providers who help us run the Platform (hosting, email, Razorpay for payments to us), under confidentiality obligations.
- When required by law or to protect rights and safety.
Teachers’ public profiles (name, subjects, area, batches and fees they choose to show) are public by design.
6. Retention
We keep data while the teacher’s account is active. Pending admissions expire automatically. A teacher can delete their account at any time from Settings → Delete account (in the app or on the website), or ask us at /delete-account. Deletion is immediate and removes the profile, students, parents, attendance, fees, results, messages and uploaded files. We keep only records we must keep by law: a record of payments made to GuruMentra (up to 8 years, for accounts and tax), with no student or parent data.
7. Your rights
You may ask to access, correct or erase your personal data, or withdraw consent. Students and parents should first contact the teacher, who controls their records; you can also contact us and we will help.
8. Security
Data is sent over HTTPS, stored on access-controlled servers, and passwords are stored only as secure hashes.
